Description: Circa 1880 carved wood frame. All wood. No plaster. No gesso . The recessed rabbet area for artwork is 21 1/4 inch X 27 15/16 inch. The open sight area is 19 1/2 inch X 26 inch. If the gold fillet was removed, the sight would be 20 1/2 inch X 27 1/4 inch. The sight could be reduced with a larger gold fillet or the addition of a mat.
