In the book "The Lamps of Tiffany" by Dr. Neustadt, "The Organic Root Base, one of Tiffany's most successful Art Nouveau designs, stands on four legs, with a diagonal spread of 15" between opposing legs. The root fibers which form the legs end in elaborately convuluted feet and extend upward to establish a platform some 2" above the tabletop and hence continue on their upward climb. Like their counterparts in nature, which are disigned to carry nourishment from earth to tree." The base stands 26 inches tall and has a wonderful colorful patina showing bronze, greens, & blacks. One great looking lamp base. If you have the shade, this may be the base for you.
