Description: This antique 150 year old Ansonia Brass Co. 8 day mantel shelf clock is in very good condition for its age. The clock features a beautiful ogee case that has scattered light blemishes throughout with a reverse painted glass lower tablet that has paint loss on one of the flowers and is made of high-quality mahogany rosewood finish. The clock is made in the United States and manufactured about 1870ish. The clock is working and features a mechanical spring powered wind-up movement with hourly strike chime sequence. Comes with an adjustable pendulum, winding key and a hand written note that gives a small glimpse into the clocks history. The painted metal dial with Roman numerals is in really nice shape and cathedral coil spring gong chime adds to the overall charm of the clock.
