AUDIENCE TESTED ORIGINALITIES -- by Graham Reed, SUPREME 1980, 1st edition MINT Condition -- new-old stock from a lot of ex-dealer inventory; not previously owned. Perhaps Graham Reed's name is not well-known to younger magi, or outside of the UK, but he was one of Britain's most creative and respected magicians in the 1970's and 1980's -- sadly, Graham passed away in 2017. He was a good friend and consultant to Paul Daniels, released a number of effects with Supreme, and this excellent book. (You can also find a few of his creations/routines in Corinda's 13 Steps.)This book is primarily mental magic, but also contains some good close-up and even some advice for kidshow magic. Reed's approach is always practical and commercial. I love the most items in this book, but immediately started using the first item -- his entertaining presentation for a Just Chance (or Bank Nite) routine. see the photo -- you get an idea of how he thinks, making the choice of envelopes very fun and visual by clipping them to the performer.If you like mental magic, you will not be sorry if you buy this book. The book also includes a section with some patter gags -- mostly outdated but still fun to read. And also a section on publicity, also outdated, but can spur your thinking on how to update the ideas to get extra shows and cash in the 21st century.See the photo of sample page shot(s) to give you an idea of illustration and format style.
