Description: Brooklyn Dodgers autographed team ball from 1952-53. Charlie Dressen was manager and they played the New York Yankees in world series back then, but this time 2024 they beat New York. This ball was given to me by my aunt 65 years ago. It was gifted originally to my cousin by Dick Williams a rookie on the dodgers and eventually manager of several teams. I talked to Dick at Spring training in Mesa Arizona in 1980 and he remembered renting a bedroom at my aunt's house in Fort Worth as he played with the Ft.Worth Cats a farm team for the Dodgers and moved up to the majors in 1951. Anyway the ball lost part of its cover being on my nightstand in the sun but there are still 18 signatures including Jackie Robinson of which part of his last name has chipped off, darn it. Its on the sweetspot with manager Charlie Dressen. You can make out other players such as Peewee Reese, Roy Campanella, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges and Carl Erskjin but they are weak. Sorry the ball is in such bad shape but hopefully it will engage your memory of the good old days of baseball. Joe Black is on it too and he was Rookie of Year for pitching.(
