Description: TACTICAL RADIO GEAR, LLCHF Single Band Band pass FiltersBPF-100W Economical PCB BARE BOARD https://youtu.be/pPMIPwCgDwUhttps://youtu.be/y0jEay7mgOY Single Band HF Bandpass Filter PCB Bare Board Bandpass filters are essential, in preventing receiver front end damage during multiple HF radio operation. Designed to provide a roll-off outside each Amateur band; these filters bring the benefit of a dramatically lower noise floor; for improved single-band, weak signal reception; necessary for contest and Field Day operations; or simply crowded band conditions! These compact HF Transmit/receive filters, accomplish out-of-band suppression, that effectively eliminates noise and interfering signals. Simply place the filter in-line between transceiver, antenna or an amplifier. If you are planning a DXpedition, a contest, or simply need the enhanced performance that a bandpass filter can provide, your radio needs these filters. Tactical Radio Gear, filters are the most cost-effective, single band filters on the market. The cutting-edge advantages, that these exceptional filters can provide; to improve image, and intrusive harmonic problems, for mono-band, multi-radio contest settings cannot be overstated. Tactical Radio Gear, filters are essential for use with transmit multiplexers, as these filters will augment the separation needed to tolerate multiple radios on different bands at the same time - on the same antenna. When used in combination with multiplexers; known as multi-band transmit combiners; it is essential for each multiplexer band to provide the additional isolation necessary to allow the operation of multiple transceivers; all transceivers in a particular situation, can operate in chorus, unhindered by the signals from radios operating on the other bands - or even on the same antenna. The Tactical Radio, BPF-100W series filter design, is based on a 3-pole Butterworth filter configuration(s), that maintain a 50 Ohm impedance, and low insertion loss. Inputs and outputs are not at DC ground potential; thus allowing a Bias-T to be used in the system. Insertion: Typical, 0.5-.7dbRejection: Typical, >40db band-to-bandPower Handling: 100W pep Impedance (ohms): 50 Width (in): 1.2 in. Depth (in): 3.8 in. Ship Weight: <10oz.VSWR & POWER CONSIDERATIONSHi VSWR will generate damaging RF voltages, and currents in a bandpass filter. VSWR is a reality that we have to be attentive to; and Tactical radio gear, has made every effort, to protect the filter components from these potentially damaging forces. The weak-link in most Bandpass filters; at these power levels, in a high VSWR condition, are the capacitors? Silver Mica capacitors are ideal for use where multilayer ceramic caps are not recommended because of cracking. We recommend that 5% 500V SM capacitors be used. All the inductors can be wound on T-80-2 powder iron cores. Not withstanding the robust design, operator(s) should endeavor to maintain a minimum VSWR when using these filters.BPF-100W is designed for use with 100W PEP transceivers. Note: The BPF-100W filter can be operated @ a 100% duty cycle. SSB speech (50% duty), CW average power is roughly equivalent to speech. WARNING: The BPF-100W is designed to be connected, between the radio and amplifier. If the filter is installed on the output of an amplifier, the filter will be destroyed almost instantly. CAUTION: Do not transmit with the BPF-100W in-line, when another band other than the one that the BPF-100W is assembled for! This can potentially damage both the radio and the filter! The Universal PCB comes with complete instructions for constructing a Band Pass filter for any of the following bands: 160m/80m/40m/30m/20m/17m/15m/12m/10m/6m. The component values for each band, are provided in the instructions. Since the PCB is a universal layout, it will work for any of the bands. Purchase more than one board for your favorite band(s). The capacitor patterns are for 500V SM caps. Inductors can be air-wound solenoid types, toroid core or RF Choke style. The PCB is high-quality FR4 material, with 2oz copper on both ground planes. Two mounting holes are provided one each end. The instructions contain lots of pictures to assist in the assembly. The circuit uses 3 different capacitor values, and 3 inductors of the same value. These filters have a 50 Ohm termination impedance, with a symmetrical design. So It's not important which end is the input or output. All of this information, is explained in the great detail in the instructions. The same Filter design is available as a complete kit less the enclosure. It is listed separately.
