Description: Description (and please see photographs): A landmark work on the subject of mixed drinks. Originally published in 1862, this 1887 printing is "An Entirely New and Enlarged Edition". Originally printed in wraps, this copy was rebound (in a newer red leather cover - "Little Book of Friendship and Good Cheer") in the 1920s or thereabouts as a gift - as marked on the front - "Compliments of Wally". On the back endpaper is stamped "Property of L.J. Walters, 609 Fifth Ave., New York City, Telephone: Vanderbilt 9860". Fitzgerald Publishing Corp. ("Successor to Dick & Fitzgerald"), New York. 130 pages, flexible red leather, approx. 4-3/4" x 7-3/8". So - the original wrap covers were removed, and rebound for gift presentation. After hours of research, I'm cannot find who "Wally" was (author, entertainer, radio personality?), nor can I find much on Mr. Walters - other than in the 1930 Manhattan phone directory I've found his listing with the same address & phone, and also marked "broker". I'm assuming that he was a stock market broker. I cannot find mention of him in newspapers.com or other genealogical sites. He is NOT the Lou Walters, father of Barbara. It's in beautiful condition.
