Cheap, thin walled copper pipe (DWV) is used by the copycats of our products in order to make the flare on the end of the pipe. DWV (Drain Waste Vent) pipe is very soft, will crack over time and should not be used on wear points. Beware of rubber gaskets on copycat parts, they will leach chemicals into your alcohol. We use alcohol resistant gaskets.The high grade stainless steel ferrules that we use are silver brazed (not soldered) with food grade silver and will not leak - ever. Our copper pipe is heavy duty thick walled type L.It takes a little more time and money to make a high quality product, but high quality products and happy customers are what we want.
