Description: BILLIE BURKE famed mostly as Glinda from THE WIZARD OF OZ 1939. One side one sheet hand written letter signed in full, no envelope, folded twice. Various dings and bangs to the vintage letter, looks like 2 file holes on the left side somewhat approximated, I don't see they detract from the letter. The letter is in marvelous condition, very flat, probably stored flat for 70 years. Hotel letterhead Sheraton Belvedere Hotel dated Jan 6th but no year. Light color sky blue fountain pen ink. Pencil notation to file the letter, probably by the recipient. Red ink reception stamp dated 1954. In Billie's handwriting: "(--) Theater St Louis (?)Dear Mr Salkeld, It was so nice to find you again - you certainly make the US get letters delivered - it was magic. I heard from Mr Goldberg that he had received the check almost the next day - I will be in NY the first week in March - I hope I bay see you both then. thanks for your grand kindness. Don't I owe you postage?
