Each lady of this club wrote a paper out on the "event" or "thing" she most remembered: The Cholera Epidemic, birmingham's early theaters, the Calico Ball, History of the Elyton Land Company, Early Life in Society etc. LIGHTLY Ex-Library with unobtrusive scuff on front cover where call #s were removed; (small rubber stamp on all 3 visible sides of the text block (see scan #3 to see how this looks on a similar book); medium sized rubber stamp on rear inside front cover; deceased private collector's bookplate whereby his family gave this book to Birmingham Southern College. but NO MARKS ON THE SPINE, NO MARKS ON THE TITLE PAGE, NO CARD POCKET AT REAR OF BOOK. I bought this book legally at the recent auction of Birmingham Southern College's RARE book room the holdings of which were sold to help defray the costs of closing down this historic 150+ year old institution :-{ VERY GOOD OVERALL Only other copy of this book on eBay as of 13 November 2024 is priced at $102 including postage!! __________________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
