Description: Listing Title: BIXOLON SPP-R400 Mobile Cordless Receipt Ticket etc Printer & Case Strap Paper + Notes on Listing Title: Note 1: "BIXOLON SPP-R400 Mobile Cordless Receipt Ticket etc Printer" refers to the following facts: a. The model number of the printer. See lower down in the listing for the manufacturer's part number. b. The primary use is as a "mobile" printer, designed to be run off its included rechargeable battery, rather than used in a single location and be powered by a power adapter that would also charge the internal replaceable battery. As packaged by Bixolon, this printer would come with an AC adapter, an installed roll of paper, and a "belt loop" accessory that would allow a user to hang the printer from a belt. All these are provided, plus additional items (see next comment). That Bixolon-branded battery is already installed in the printer. c. When used near an AC outlet, this unit can be charged / run from a standard wall outlet by using the included AC adapter. It shows no sign of use. The included never-used detachable AC cord that plugs into that AC adapter is still in its original "folded" style, secured by a black "twister tie". Note 2: "& Case Strap Paper etc." refers to the optional / additional accessories found in each lot: a. One additional full roll of thermal printer paper (beyond the roll found inside each printer). b. One never-used padded shoulder strap. They call came packed inside their own plastic bags. The one you see in the listing photo "draped over" the box is shown that way so that you can see what's inside that bag. c. One, which appears to be new and unused, soft case with a protective flap which can be "opened" when printing (to get access to printed copy) and clear flexible "windows" that let you see the display, and also press on, with your pressure transferring through to the control button below the window. d. Car adapter/charger that operates off 10 to 30 volts DC, including of course the ability to use the standard 12 volt "power port" found in at least one location in most automobiles sold in the USA (that used to be referred to as the "cigarette lighter outlet" including the removable part that would get red hot if pushed in, then pop partway out for you to remove the rest of the way to light the end of a cigarette or cigar with). e. USB adapter data cable, that plugs into a non-standard "interface port" on the printer. I believe that cable is only for use for receving data such as information to print, and not also providing a source of power to operate the printer and/or charge its battery. Not included, but separately available, are other adapters such as to allow these printers to be connected to a serial interface, e.g. on a computer or possibly on some kind of point of sale equipment such as a card reader (please review Bixolon's documentation as to the possible range of serial-connected devices these portable printers could be compatible with). For more information about what is provided with each lot being sold here, please see the section below entitled "OONTENTS OF EACH LOT". Source of Lots Being Sold here: These printers were bought for internal use by a local transportation services agency, but according to them were never used (and there are clues I'll mention below that backs up that claim about these items). Here is the seller's short online description of what we bought from them for resale. I've set out their language in "italics" and boldface so you'll see their unedited description clearly contrasted to the rest of this listing: (9) never used Bixolon’s SPP-R400 Receipt Printer(s) Bixolon’s mobile line SPP-R400. This mobile printer is designed for rough wear-and-tear conditions while maintaining its sleek and lightweight design. The SPP-R400 is not only Apple MFi certified but is also compatible with all major operating systems including Android, Windows, and Symbian OS. Connect and print to an iPad, iPhone or any Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet. Equipped with one touch cover open and simple drop-in paper loading, the SPP-R400 also switches from a receipt printer to a label printer. This printer is dust and water resistant with an IP54 rating and multiple drop resistance of 5 feet. That last line about "dust and water resistant" and "multiple drop resistance of 5 feet" does not have any accompanying information about where the seller got it from, or whether they left anything out of it, so I don't know whether that language only applies when the printer is in the optional case that I am providing with each printer being sold here, or applies whether these units are in their optional cases or not. Note also that the above description refers to "(9) never used" printers"; this listing does not contain all of that group of "9", as I'm keeping one for internal use and plan to sell the other one not through eBay. As if 9/22/2024, we'd sold 1 of those 7 that it originally featured as available. At least in the "edit" mode that I went into for this listing as of the above date, the amount available had been automatically reduced by eBay from "7" to "6" since one unit had been sold that date before I started editing the listing. 97% plus of the listing text, as it existed before that one unit was sold on 9/22/2024, and all of the original isting photos, remain unchanged. The purchase I made from that same surplus department also included some brand new additional rolls of compatible thermal printing paper. I'm including one of those additional rolls with each printer, in addition to the unused roll as found within each printer when I obtained them, as mentioned below. CONTENTS OF EACH LOT Each of the 7 identical (other than their unique serial numbers) lots being sold here consists of the following items, each offered in its original serial number matched retail box: 1. As supplied by Bixolon with each SPP-R400 (each printer here comes in its original serial-number-matching retail box):Bixolon Printer Installation Guide (original hard copy)Bixolon CD including manual, drivers, etc.Bixolon SPP-R400 (operates on 8.4v DC via rechargeable battery or AC adapter, below)Bixolon-supplied AC adapter, model BPC 06784, P/N PBC-1000-01 (operates on 100-240V AC)Bixolon-supplied standard USA style 2 blade plug type detachable AC cordBixolon-supplied thermal paper roll (will be found inside the printer, with the end of the roll very lightly glued to the roll to keep the roll from "unspooling" during transit to the buyer; be sure to follow instructions and manually thread the end of the paper roll through the printing mechanism per the supplied instructions and)Bixolon-supplied detachable belt loop adapter (for using and carrying the printer "hands free" without the optional Bixolon case we are supplying, with its buit in belt clip and/or with our also added item of shoulder straps)2. In addition to the basic items listed above that come with every Bixolon SPP-R400, we are including the following enhancements for the buyer that they would not get if just buying a standard retail boxed setup for the Bixolon SPP-R400; the retail value of those added items is almost certainly over $100:Bixolon original protective soft (but rugged) case with built-in belt clip, plus rings for use with a shoulder strapBixolon original padded shoulder strap for use with Bixolon soft caseOne additional compatible full width thermal printing paper roll Bixolon original PCC-1000 12 volt auto "power port" (formerly called "cigarette lighter type") plug-in adapter (operates off of 11-30 volts DC, 1.0 amps) Brand new USB adapter cable, fitted at one end with a connector compatible with the proprietary connector used by Bixolon on this model printer, and at the other end with a standard USB "A" flat rectangle style connector. (This approach lets Bixolon, and makers of other equipment, supply other types of connector cable adapters, such as for serial connectivity, without needing more than one interface port type built into the printer itself.)FEATURES OF THESE PRINTERS: Enhanced Convenience - Compatible with smart devices including iPhone, iPad, and Android - Versatile connectivity WLAN, Bluetooth, etc. - One-touch cover open and simple drop-in paper loading Mobile Field-Work Optimization - Handy yet robust design - Long-lasting battery life Improved Printing Performance - Linerless label printing optional - Easily switch from receipt to label printing - Low-temp -15°C printing with an integrated temperature sensor - Faster printing speeds of up to 80 mm/sec Receipt - Enhanced printing of fonts, graphics, and barcode symbologies FEATURE LIST Type:Mobile Print technology:Direct thermal Print speed:80 mm/sec Compatible operating systems:Windows XP/Vista/7/8/Server 2003/Server 2008 / iOS / OPOS / Linux Built-in barcodes:1D, 2D, CODABAR NW-7, Code 128 A/B/C, Code 39, Code 93, EAN13, EAN8, ITF, Matrix 2/5, MaxiCode, PDF417, QR Code, UPC-A, UPC-E Color of product:Grey Maximum printing width:112 mm [Note that these print on a wider paper roll than most other Bixolon printers] Connectivity technology:Wired & Wireless Bluetooth:Y Bluetooth version:3.0EDR Serial ports quantity:1 Standard interfaces:USB 1.1 Weight:697 g [Seller's note: This figure likely does not include the optional case and may not include the weight of accessories such as AC adapters] Battery technology:Lithium-Ion Li-Ion Power source type:Battery [Seller's Note: We assume this means that the manufacturer assumes that these printers would be used, more often than not, other than as a stationary desktop located printer] Operating temperature T-T:-15 - 50 °C Storage temperature T-T:-30 - 70 °C Operating relative humidity H-H:10 - 80 % Maximum resolution:203 x 203 DPI Flash memory:4 MB Internal RAM:64 GB Internal memory:8 MB LED indicators:Y Drivers included:Y Ethernet LAN:N Dimensions WxDxH:147 x 66.7 x 171.4 mm SPECIFIC NOTES ABOUT THE MODEL SPP-R400 Interfaces: This printer, including to other methods of connectivity including BlueTooth, has a single "wired" proprietary interface port, which is for use withr USB, serial, and possibly other methods of wired connectivity. We have no information to suggest that its interface port is useable with any kind of directly connecting cable; instead, wired connections are made by using one of several available detachable interface adapters such as for USB (included) and Serial (not included) communications. This printer in its basic presentation does not come with any wired connectivity adapters'; instead, its native communication ability is through wireless technology such as BlueTooth. See photo of the "Content Confirmation" section of the included hard copy of Bixolon's Printer Installation Guide, which shows the items that are always provided by Bixolon when this model printer is sold, as opposed to optional items such as the removable case we provide here as an added bonus. We are, however, including a brand new USB adapter cable, fitted at one end to "mate" with the proprietary connector used by Bixolon on this model printer, and at the other end with a standard USB "A" flat rectangle style connector. No "Magnetic Stripe" Card Reader: Some versions of this printer have a fold-out card-swipe reader in the front, referred to as the "MSR", which I assume means "Magnetic Stripe Reader". These being sold here do not have that feature. If you compare the front edge of these printers to the images in the included printed documentation, you will see that these printers have a slightly different appearance in that area than those that do have the MSR feature as shown in the documentation. And unlike those with the MSR option, the front trim pieces are "blanks" -- nothing pops open when they are pressed (I've tried this, so I know) as would happen if these had that MSR option. Cleaning Pen / Wand Not Included. The included "Printer Installation Guide" in the section entitled "Printer Cleaning" shows something that looks like a round barrel "dry marker" or "permanent marker" chisel-head style felt pen, for periodic cleaning of the thermal print head, and how it would be used to clean that head. The "Printer Cleaning" section identifies this cleaner as the Bixolon cleaning pen PCP-R200II, and states that only it should be used for cleaning. Note that there are very specific instructions, e.g., on how to use such a pen to avoid damaging the printer, to avoid getting burned on not surfaces, how long to let the print head dry before closing the printer and starting to print with it again etc. These were not included with any of these, and are not shown or mentioned in the"Content Confirmation" section of the "Printer Installation Guide". I assume that means it was an optional feature. Similar items are readily available on the office supplies market. I would advise, however, contacting Bixolon for their recommendations (they would probably tell you to use only their product), to make sure that you don't use any such product that could damage the print head. From my experience with thermal printers, such cleaners are usually alcohol-based (some come with a stiff "cleaner card", packed in a foil envelope, that can be run through the printer as if it was printing paper), but again, I suggest you check with Bixolon first before using a third party product of any kind for cleaning the print head. CONDITION: I have listed these under eBay's pre-defined condition code category of "New -- Open Box". I'm basing that choice on the following: a. The person in charge of this sale is a public employee with no personal "skin in the game", such as a commission based on how high the final selling price might be. So when they stated in the listing, as well s to me personally, that the printers were all "unused", I have (and have) no reason to doubt them. b. The condition of the included roll of paper, which had never had its "end" (which was glued down to the roll, as mentioned elsewhere) torn free from the roll by using the built in cutter bar. The added roll of paper, which we are providing, came from a case containing a full 50 rolls (as stated on the box) of compatible printing paper, each one kept from unrolling by the applying of an adhesive label. c. The fact that all of the printers were shown in one of the online listing photos through which we decided to purchase these items for resale,as already installed in the optional soft sided cases provided as part of this auction, but none of the optionally supplied shoulder straps were "unkinked" or unfolded and were all in their original bags, except one that was briefly removed from its zipper lock style bag so that the seller could show it in a photo (when packed in the bag it is folded fairly tightly so it's impossible to tell what exactly it looks like, so it made sense to remove one from the bag just long enough to take a listing photo). d. The "belt loop" accessories supplied by Bixolon were never used (and in fact can't be installed if one is to place one of these inside of its matching case); all the belt loop accessories. are still in their original plastic bag packaging. e. The AC cords, which are not permanently attached to the AC power supplies, all remain "hanked" (folded back and forth into a neat "package") into their original folded style, typical of how such cords are packaged before being straighened out for use. The short cords that provide power/charging current to the printers, permenantly attached to the external power supplies, are too short to have been "hanked". f. Each retail box in which we are providing these products to the buyer, have a unique serial number of the box that matches the serial number on the enclosed printer. For reasons that the person in charge of selling these did not know, someone else in their surplus sales program had at some point put each printer in one of the included optional cases. If the batteries each printer currently installed in their battery compartments were originally stored separately, for the printers provided here, they were pre-installed. They then used most of the original retail boxes to store groups of the original unused accessories (both those that would normally be furnished with one of these printers, and also additional optional accessory items), rather than putting the now-cased printers back into their boxes. For instance, one box held nothing but 5 "extra batteries" (in addition to the pre-installed battery found in each printer here being sold), which contents were hand notated on the box; those 5 batteries are being sold separately. Another box was full of AC adapters and their cords, and hand notated as such. And so on. In this listing, the following printers, each identified by their serial number, with the above specified accessories are being offered in their serial-number-matching retail boxes, each with a complete set of the above-listed accessories: USAZBKA16100040 USAZBKA16100042 USAZBKA16100043 (this is the one that was randomly chosen to serve as the "photo model" for this listing; it fully and fairly represents the appearance of all of the other lots in this listing, and will be the last lot sold -- or part of the last group of lots sold, depending on how many lots remain available when the last group if more than one, or just this one if it's the last one then remaining, are sold)USAZBKA16100045 THIS ONE WITH SERIAL # ENDING IN "45" IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. ALREADY SOLD AND SHIPPED. USAZBKA16100046 USAZBKA16100047 USAZBKA16100048"BEST OFFER" TIPS: We do set the initial Buy It Now price, not at the very highest amount something recently sold for, but based on our general experience about what comparable items sell for. With our 20+ years of experience, we do often manage to sell things for a higher price than, for example, a very new seller (with no track record here) or a seller who doesn't care about avoiding negative feedback (which we have rarely received in that 20+ years selling on eBay; please check the feedback comments we've received). Our kind of track record raises buyer confidence. And so, we hope, does the amount of detail we provide in our listings, as well as the many photographs (not just a few, and no "stock photos" used here at all such as from a manufacturer's web site) we include in listings such as this. We want you to know exactly what you'd receive, before you receive it. But If you want to offer us less than our full "Buy It Now" price, here are some tips about when and why we'd make such a deal with a buyer: We have certain costs for shipping; plus ebay fees and what we paid to get these to resell. There is also time and effort involved. So while you might like to buy one of these for say $10, with us paying to ship, we simply can't afford to do that. In fact, even if you wanted to buy several, while that would cut down our effective 'overhead per item' since we could ship several together, we wouldn't take $10 anyway because we know how much people value these and will pay for them; but we would be willing to consider taking less than the full posted Buy It Now price if you buy 2 or more items from us at once to be shipped together to a single address. And the closer you are to us in Northern California, the less it might cost us to ship. So keep ideas like those in mind when you decide, if making an offer, how much to offer per item. Please also note that we have enabled, through eBay, a quantity discount where the price during eBay check out will be automatically reduced if you buy 2 or more lots to be shipped together to a single shipping address. But that option is not available if you buy using the "Best Offer" feature. So if you are buying more than one, you need to decide whether to seek a discount via "Best Offer", or just click "Buy It Now" and automatically receive a discount; eBay has set things up so that only one kind of discount can apply to a single purchase transaction. FREE "ECONOMY CLASS" SHIPPING (MEANS YOU MIGHT GET A FREE UPGRADE TO FASTER SERVICE): eBay defines "Ecoonmy Class" shipping as meaning a shipping service that is supposed to get a buyer's item to them within 10 business days after being given to the shipper by the ebay seller (plus, in our case, our standard 1 business day after payment handling time between payment date and shipment date). For items as lightweight and small as these, we'd generally use FedEx Economy or UPS Ground Economy shipping. When you choose "Free Shipping", we will pick from available carriers that will commit to delivering your item(s) to you at least as fast as eBay requires for "Economy Shipping", based on whichever method costs us the least. And if (as sometimes happens, especially if you aren't far from our San Francisco Bay Area location, that means choosing Priority Mail when doing so is less expensive for us than using a usually slower service such as "FedEx Ground Economy, we'll "upgrade" you to USPS Priority Mail at no added cost. EXPEDITED SHIPPING VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL FOR $10 EXTRA TOTAL You can decide at time of checkout to pay $10 extra for us to ship via USPS Priority Mail if you're in a hurry (and want to be sure that we'll use Priority Mail instead of a likely slower -- possibly days slower, depending on circumstances -- alternative allowed by the terms of this listing). That one $10 upgrade fee applies whether you are buying just one lot here, or are buying more than one in a single transaction. It is possible to set up such a fee so that if a buyer buys more than one item, they'd have to pay extra if buying more than one, but we aren't doing that. Please note that we are referring here to "USPS Priority Mail" for that $10 upgrade, not the much more expensive "USPS Priority Mail Express" service (formerly known as "Express Mail") where the buyer would be charged around $20 for such an upgrade (that's my best recollection; I almost never ship anything via "Priority Mail Express"). FREE LOCAL PICKUP (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY): PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT TO PICK THIS UP FROM US AT NO CHARGE TO YOU OTHER THAN YOUR PURCHASE PRICE (plus tax if added by eBay): If you want the Free Local Pickup option, it is much better to make that choice during "ebay checkout" before you finish and pay. Ebay used to be very strict about that, though apparently it is now possible, if done very soon after purchase, to arrange with the seller for a local pickup, confirmed in writing by messages between buyer and seller so that ebay will be able to review those messages and decide if to approve an after-the-fact decision by the buyer to want the "local pickup" option, rather than the otherwise automatic choice by eBay of shipping if no other choice was made before Checkout was complete, to apply. Since I almost always my listings set up to have a one business day turnaround time between date of payment and date of shipment (this will sometimes be temporarily seen as 2 or more days, usually because I will be out of town for a few days and won't be able to ship as quickly as usual after a purchase), any post-payment wish to change your choice on this topic has to be done quickly so that I don't get a "ding" on my timely shipments record for not shipping as fast as the listing says I would do, that I then have to spend what would could be an hour or more on the phone, trying to get ebay to remove. And one more thing: We're a small outfit that does not have an always-available pickup or customer service department, so pickups must be by appointment only. Please don't show up unannounced and assume you can be helped. We're reasonable people at this end, however, as our feedback should show, so if we work together, setting up an appointment, possibly including evenings and weekends depending on our mutual schedules at the time of purchase, that works for all should not be difficult. Thanks! RETURNS IN GENERAL: Please be sure to save all shipping and packing materials (box, padding, etc.) for the length of the potential return period, in the event a return is to take place. If you have any questions at all about the condition of the materials, however, please contact us first to confirm that we would authorize you to re-use those materials in returning an item to us, since sometimes those materials get chewed up enough during initial delivery that they need to be repaired or replaced before being re-used. BUYER NO-FAULT RETURNS: 30 calendar day return time, running from date of first attempt at delivery by the chosen shipper to your ebay verified shipping address, if you return these for any or no reason in the same condition as sent, at your expense. However, if you do something that causes one of these to fail in use, e.g., if you spill your drink into one of these, which is something that simply can't be "undone" and would have to be disclosed to a later buyer, that would be a good example of something that would not qualify for a "BUYER NO-FAULT RETURN". CLAIMED SELLER FAULT RETURNS: Ebay lets you return almost anything within 30 days after receiving it, if what was purchased is not what the listing represented it to be, no matter what limitations a seller may try to put on the reasons for return (and many do). Please see exact details as provided by eBay at the top of this listing. To the extent that ebay allows it, you must use a shipping class and type that costs no more than what we used to ship your item(s) to you.
