It also fits a powder flask and has a space for some tools or parts. The top, sides and bottom have light handling marks, draglines and scrapes. The edges and corners have light dings. Most of the finish is still intact except it has started to wear along the edges on both the top and bottom of the box. The latch and hinge are functional with some light patina discoloration. The top opens smoothly. The latch has a lock, but NO key is included so we were unable to test it. The inside felt is in Good - Vey Good condition. The felt covers both the top and bottom. The top lid has a paper glued to it telling how to load the firearm. The paper is slightly wrinkled and has turned a shade of yellow. There is a worn spot on the lid on the lower left side corner. Also, the felt has a little tear at the tip of the mold where the muzzle would sit, plus it is a little thin where the cylinder hits the felt. Otherwise, there are no rips, tears and the coloring is intact. The felt is securely fastened to the wood box. There is a generic molded area that fits a black powder revolver, it has a good shape and shows no unusual wear. This will be a great display box to your favorite black powder revolver.
