Description: This Bob's Machine Shop Gen 3 Extreme Action 8" Jack Plate is a high-quality product that is perfect for those who are looking for a reliable and durable jack plate. The jack plate is designed for use with outboard engines, and it is made by the trusted brand Bob’s Machine Shop. This jack plate was installed in February 2023 on a center console salt water fishing boat. The jack plate functioned great with a 350 hp Mercury Verado outboard motor. However, the 8” offset was too much for my center console. During removal the action pump made contact with something, causing the housing to break; the crack can be seen in the photos. The pump is no longer operable. The jack plate itself is in great condition, but it will need a new action pump. The new action pump is a bolt on replacement. Please note that you can procure a new pump from Bob’s Machine Shop website for around $200. If I buy the pump and replace it myself, the pump warranty will not extend to you (the buyer.). As such, in lieu of asking $1,195 I’m asking $995; this will allow you to carry the new part warranty direct with Bob’s Machine Shop. I cleaned the old caulking off the plate as best possible, and polished the exterior of the unit. I also greased the rails for your convenience. I did not use the Bob’s Machine Shop contura switch, but I have included two (on)-off-(on) toggle switches for your use. Additionally, I’ve included a spare Blue Sea Systems shortstop.
