Description: The Other Arms Rucksack, also known affectionately by the troops as the "Turtle" Backpack, is the British Army rucksack designed to transport equipment and supplies. The rucksack was issued to non infantry troops for carrying their items from the barracks to the field, as opposed to a regular infantry rucksack which is better suited for long hiking trips or reconnaissance missions. Most soldiers considered these to be tougher than the infantry version. The unique design also allows the pack to be carried from the top or worn on the back. The shoulder and waist straps can be hidden under a flap for snag-free transportation.
