Description: This listing is for one (1), NEW, brass float bowl drain plug and one (1), NEW nylon washer to fit Amal carburetors fitted on BSA, Triumph and Nortons. If your bike has the original plastic drain plug this brass one is the upgrade. Most original float bowl drain plugs were made from plastic. They either melted or became disfigured from use, which prevented them from ever being utilized. These are British manufactured chrome plated brass plugs, a definite improvement over the plastic junk. They do not melt or become disfigured from removal. The original washers were made from paper fiber which also deteriorated. Our kits feature a nylon washer. We recommend using a little anti seize compound on the plug threads, your beast will "be good to go" for decades. Make sure your carburetor has a float drain on the bottom of the float bowl. Most pre 1972 Amals did not have this built into the float bowl. You can upgrade your float bowl to one with a drain. NEW upgraded float bowls are available but they are expensive, email us if you're interested. See our waterproof tickler kits, if you really want to spice up your old Amals.
