Description: The Bulletin of the New York Public Library, volume 33, January to December 1929. Around 912 pages. Bound in library buckram. Measures around 7" x 10 1/4". Condition: This volume is ex-library, from the library of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There is a Museum of Art bookplate inside the front cover, an embossed seal on the title page, and intake stamps on the individual issue covers. There is NO card pocket and there are NO borrowing stamps — the inside back cover is clean. The issues are in nice condition and well-preserved. The sturdy library binding has held up well. The issues were printed on durable glossy paper, which remains supple. As one might expect from the New York Public Library, the contents are eclectic. The articles include a comprehensive bibliography on asbestos, a bibliography of works on modern Egypt, a piece on early American editions of Dickens' works, correspondence between Herman Melville and his family, and a guide to the Library's exhibition of miniature books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our father was a bibliophile who collected rare books, letters, and ephemera for more than 60 years.
