Description: Wonderful necklace of genuinely old Dutch "donut" trade beads. Trade beads were used by the Europeans throughout North America to barter for pelts, access to resources, and land. Like the Dutch buying Manhattan. Less frequently, they were given as a token of friendship. This piece is as much a historical artifact as it is a piece of jewelry. Condition is good. Most of the beads are looking their age. A few, not very many, have a chip or are cracked. Length is approximately 22 inches. The weight is about 4 ounces or a little over 110 grams. Out of the same collector's estate that the other necklaces I've listed came from. I have a few more yet that I'll be listing soon. He bought good things, antique things, whenever he could. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have; I'd be happy to answer. Shipping is a flat $12.75 via USPS Ground advantage with a signature request attached to help prevent mis-delivery and package theft. Carefully wrapped and boxed. I value the things I sell. Thank you for looking.
