The early tabular discoid shaped coin weight has a design to the top (possibly a man) but very faint and a smooth base with rounded waist. I have looked through a microscope and both sides have remnant's of a design. This is an early Byzantine coin weight and will help to complete any Byzantine weight type collection. These early weights were generally plain compared to the elaborate later examples. It displays well and is a quality early Byzantine coin weight. Its mass corresponds to a 3 nomismata. The weight is in very fine condition with a deep green and soil patina. Weighs: 12.1 gramsMeasures: 1.8 cm in diameter and 7.5 mm top to bottom approximately.
