Description: c 1885 Allerton Child’s ‘STAG’ Tea Trio Miniature Staffordshire Reference: Lorraine Punchard, ‘Playtime Pottery & Porcelain From the United Kingdom and the United States,’ pp 85-87. This is a scarce antique child’s miniature Tea Trio consisting of a Plate, Cup, and Saucer in a rich brown transfer on creamy earthenware in the ‘STAG’ pattern. This child’s Tea Trio would have been part of a complete Teaset made by Charles Allerton & Sons, Park Works, Longton, England, c 1885. Produced during the Aesthetic Movement the design and motifs surrounding the stag reflect this period. Dimensions:(1) Cup: 2” H (1) Saucer: 4.5” W x 1” H(1) Plate: 5.5” D Please ignore any reflections in the photos. This child’s antique Tea Trio in the ‘STAG’ pattern has been played with and cherished by children and is in very good condition with the exception of some slight toning. Transfer skips and smudges, crazing, and minor firing and stilt imperfections typical of pieces manufactured at this period of time may exist, but nothing that diminishes the display value; this is a very popular pattern made by a well-known pottery.
