Description: c 1950 W H Grindley & Co Ltd vintage Cream Petal ware 23 cm entree or salad plates "Raeburne" floral pattern, SET OF FIVE! Produced at the Woodland pottery, Woodland St, Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire which operated from 1880 to 1991. A tactile, fluted design with beautiful floral garlands in a multi coloured palette and gold highlights on a creamy white base. In very good original vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, restoration or crazing that I can identify. The colours remain clean and bright, there are some fine utensil marks on the front. Kiln specks, glaze faults and enamel smudges are typical of wares produced in this era due to the intensive manual processes, and should be expected. The reverse of all bear the Grindley England cream petal back stamp which was used from 1936 to 1954; a hand written painter's mark; and the pattern name. I have listed a quantity of items in this pattern separately.I do combine postage for multiple purchases and refund any difference immediately after posting. Ref 1535
