Description: CAIRO PLANTATION COMMISSARY Print of Original Oil Painting 11 x 14 inches This is a fabulous print of one of my original oil paintings, titled "Cairo Plantation Commissary.” This historical structure is located in Dixie, Louisiana. Dixie is a small community in north Caddo a parish. Cairo Plantation was established in 1893 by John Mercer Sentell. Cotton was the primary crop for years; later, pecans, peaches, and sod have become the main crops. This print has a one inch white border. It will easily pop into a standard 11 x 14 frame. I prefer weathered wood frames which give an informal and primitive feel that goes with the farm landscape. Frame not included. This print measures 11 x 14, and is is signed, numbered, and dated by me, Kristi Jones, a Louisiana artist. Limited edition of 250. SHIPPING: Art will be shipped with care in a sturdy, flat mailer, with tracking information. An artist statement and bio will be included in your purchase. The watermark will not appear on print. Copyright does not transfer with sale of this print. Thanks for browsing art by Kristi Jones! Please view all my other listings in my EBAY shop! About the artist: Kristi Jones was named after Howard Chandler Christy, who was a 20th century illustrator and distant relative. Kristi is also the 5th cousin to Clyde Dixon Connell, one of Louisiana's most famous female artists. Kristi developed an innate artistic ability from being raised by artistic parents, both of whom obtained art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother sold work at a local gallery. Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. She has created mosaics and has sold her tropical jewelry at many Louisiana festivals, including Shreveport's Red River Revel. Recently, she has turned to painting, and has sold work both locally and nationally. She has exhibited at shows and galleries in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art and Centenary's Magale Library, Smith Mason Legacies Gallery, and Artspace in downtown Shreveport. In December 2011, Kristi was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), and became a Juried Roster Artist in 2012. In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans.
