Description: 2023 Canada King Charles IIICoronation MedallionLimited Edition of 5000Struck by the Canadian Heritage Mint Medallions are in pristine original "mint fresh" new condition. Presented in acrylic coin holders, each with a Certificate of Authenticity. His Majesty King Charles III has officially authorized this limited-edition bronze medallion for Canadians to commemorate the May 6, 2023, Coronation. Engraved by retired Royal Canadian Mint Senior Engraver Susan Taylor, the obverse features a new effigy of His Majesty wearing the Imperial State Crown together with the King’s Royal Cypher. The reverse features the May 6th, 2023, date of the coronation together with a wreath of six Canadian maple leaves encircling St. Edward’s Crown. Each maple leaf represents one of the Kings and Queens of Canada since confederation: Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George V, King George VI, Queen Elizabeth II, and now King Charles III. St. Edward’s Crown is the central motif, as it has been used for the formal coronation ceremony of British monarchs for more than 700 years. The medallion has a 37 mm diameter and a brilliant finish. It is presented in a protective acrylic holder and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Mintage is limited to just 5,000 pieces. Medals or medallions have been issued for the coronation of every British monarch for more than five centuries, and this attractive collectible continues the long tradition.
