Description: Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman True 1st/1st 1962 Hardcover RARE This is a nice and rare true first edition copy of Milton Friedman's classic, Capitalism and Freedom. You will get a good sense of the condition of the book from all the photos I have posted. I am not a professional book seller, so I am judging this copy with my own eye. The photos are crucial to this description. The jacket is worn but still displays nicely. Fading to the spine. Edgewear, creasing, and some small tears throughout. The book itself is overall great. Tight binding with crisp and clean pages. The only pencil markings I could find are some check marks on a page of the table of contents (see photo). Slight edgewear to the cloth which mainly consists of color fading. Small dent to the bottom of the text block. Previous owner's name inside cover. What looks like foxing spotting to me on the inside and back end papers (last two photos). I can tell you that this particular copy has been sitting on my office shelf for the past 20 years and has been well treated in my possession. Overall, a good solid copy to this rare first edition. Now, here's an interesting association to this copy: The previous owner's name is written as G. Edward Schuh. George Schuh was a longtime economist at the University of Minnesota who served in government during the Ford, Carter, and Clinton administrations. The connection to Friedman is that Friedman, along with George Stigler, was at one point a young professor at the University of Minnesota. Feel free to message me with any additional questions. Please view the photos carefully.
