Card of 42 ANTIQUE BUTTONS, Assorted VEGETABLE IVORY #2, Some Unusual Examples

Description: Card of 42 antique clothing buttons -- VEGETABLE IVORY -- were produced in various shapes and sizes. I believe these are all small sized buttons. Most or all of these were produced in the early 1900s. The buttons are all made of VEGETABLE IVORY, of various types and styles. Some are carved, some are etched, and two are painted. A few are pierced, several have transfer designs, and a couple have additional embellishments / OMEs -- including metal and fabric. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact sizes of the buttons. Overall condition: Solid VG+/Excellent..... The buttons may have light surface/edge/paint wear -- but I have noticed no cracks, chips, or other more serious flaws. They are in very nice shape and the tray will display beautifully. See attached photos for more detail on the condition. ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage buttons. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She is downsizing, so I am helping her sell some of her collection. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experience with. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any hobby standards.
