Thomas created the book in 1970 and wrote every issue through to 1980. During that run, he created the Red Sonja character, based on a Robert E. Howard character named Red Sonya. Red Sonja first appeared in the Conan The Barbarian series that Thomas was writing. Also during this decade, Thomas created and wrote Savage Sword of Conan as well as King Conan. About a decade later, he would go on to co-write Conan The Destroyer, the second Conan movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Thomas reflects on all this in his Afterword to this book. This dense trade takes place after Belit's death. It's been about a year since Conan lost the woman he loved. Conan has pushed north, out of the Black Kingdoms, now making his way through the southern parts of Shem. His destination is the city state of Akkharia, ruled by King Sumuabi. The book starts with a massive 6 part story, followed by a single issue story, ending with Conan The Barbarian #115, which is a double size 10th anniversary issue also starring Red Sonja. Those who have read Conan The Barbarian from the beginning will be pleased to see Easter Eggs and connections to Thomas' earliest stories featuring the mighty barbarian. CONDITION: The book is in Very Good condition. Some would call it Like New, but I'm a hard grader. I'd rather you be pleased when you see it rather than disappointed in its condition. The book itself presents re-mastered art and color printed on glossy white paper.
