People are constantly asking me if I will fix their old clocks for them. It seems most of the old clock guys out there are either highly overpriced or just dying out. So this is my solution. MY goal is simple - I will make your broken clock work again. And in the simplest most direct manner. If I cannot fix it it would be either because of a lack of vintage/antique parts required or because the clock is just "too far gone". If I cannot fix it for any reason I will send it back to you without a repair fee. Your only risk is the shipping costs. Due to shipping complications this service is offered only to residents of the USA and Canada I will work on any type or style of clock made before 1975. No quartz clocks please. Mechanical or Electrical. 35 to 200 years old. Note that ebay and paypal take about $5 from the fee so that leaves me with $20 as a base fee. I feel that I can fix/service MOST electrical clocks for the base fee. I can fix/service MOST mechanical clocks for the base fee. If I need to buy parts I can fix MOST clocks for the base fee plus the cost of the parts. If not, then I will let you know in advance of the estimated repair cost and you can paypal me the remaining cost. All clocks that are repaired will be returned with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. I will strive to return the clock to you within two - three weeks of receiving it. Here is how it works: 1) You email me through ebay's "ask the seller a question" function and describe your clock and its issues. 2) I email you back with what I "think" might be the problem and whether or not it can be fixed. 3) If I think I can fix it I will tell you how much I think it would cost. 4) If we agree "in principal" on the repair and estimated cost then you buy this service from ebay as a "buy it now" for $24.99. This $24.99 fee is the base fee the repair work. It can also be the deposit on the repair if the estimated cost is higher than $24.99. Addition costs (if needed) can be sent via paypal, if desired 5) You send the clock to me at your cost. In the box with the clock you include a copy of the form (below) along with a payment to cover the return shipping cost ( same as original shipping cost ) and any other costs. 6) I will reship the clock back to you in the same box and packing that you sent it to me. So the return shipping will be the exact cost that you paid to ship it to me in the first place. 7) Upon inspection of the clock, if the cost of the repair will be more than $24.99 or more than the "estimated price" I will contact you for an email approval before proceeding. If the cost to repair is equal to or less than $24.99 I just fix it and will send you a partial refund (if applicable) when I return the clock. 8) If the cost to fix will be more than the estimated amount I will contact you to discuss the payment of the balance or the return the clock, unrepaired - your choice. 9) Once repaired the clock will be sent back in your original packaging materials. Sometimes when I start to work on a clock, internal or external parts, wires, connections and other old items can break/disintegrate from age, from poory performed previous repairs, or for many other reasons - most of the time I can fix these things but sometimes I cant. If a clock is rendered unfixable or otherwise in worse condition than when received, the clock owner agrees to hold me harmless for any damage other than the base fee received for the original repair. For the purposes of this repair service, in no case shall the value of the clock be considered to exceed that of the estimated repair cost. If subsequent repairs to other aspects of the clock are required after the item has been repaired then the entire repair process must be initiated again. If the clock owner chooses to bring the clock to another repair service vendor following my repair efforts then any and all costs shall be bourne by the clock owner. In no case shall I be responsible to pay for the repair services provided by others. INSURANCE: - Insurance should be included in the shipping and handling cost of the clock. I am not responsible for shipping damage or loss. Please note that I test every item before packing them. I pack all items very well. Since we are dealing with old and sensitive items damage can occur in shipping very easily. Regardless of the amount of bubblewrap we use damage can occur just by rough handling. I will do my best to prevent this. Often older clocks that are not working upon arrival just need a minor adjustment to get to working condition again - please email me if you have any issues. I have been able to get "nonworking" clocks working again in 95% of all cases via a few emailed instructions or quick phone call. . For items that are LOST or NOT RECEIVED a claim can only be made with the post office after it is missing for 30+ days. This service is offered for residents of the USA and Canada only.
