Description: This is a wonderful print of a painting titled "Coming Ashore" by George Fredricks. It is the only giclee print on canvas made from this painting. The canvas measures 16"high by 20" wide, and is gallery-wrapped. It is in excellent condition, and comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the art. George Fredricks was born in New York City in 1943. He spent his summers on Long Island, where he built his first boat with his dad and developed his love of the sea. He studied art briefly during and after high school, but after his service in the military he opted for a traditional career to support his family and only painted occasionally. In 2006 George was diagnosed with cancer. Although his treatments were helping, he must have known that his time with us was limited. From the Spring of 2007, until his death in July of 2008, he painted over 200 unique, original works of art: lighthouses, ships, seascapes, and the occasional landscape. However, George's best work is in his ships: all are intricately worked with every line on the rigging, every banister in place, to the most minute detail.
