This computer's internal case stamp shows a date of Aug 5, 1998, with most of the internal components actually being from that time, and it seems that the CD RW was upgraded soon after (June 2000). The system is an AMD-K6-2, 345 Mhz, with a 2x AGP ATI Rage LT Pro video card (4Mb RAM), a 3 Gb IDE drive, 128 Mb SDRAM, ESS AudioDrive ES1869F, HP CDRW. I have replaced the CMOS battery, cleaned it up and loaded Windows 98SE, all the drivers (saved to C:\Drivers), an antivirus, as well as a ton of games. The internal sound card works perfectly in Windows. In DOS, it will play the sound effects, but FM synthesis is not always available (doesn't work on Doom, works for Prehistorik 2 and Lion King) - there are two available ISA slots inside for upgrades if necessary. Inside the system is very clean already, the caps all look good - externally, the case is in amazing condition - all the plastic panels open and close, hinges work, transparent game port/USB port cover is entirely scratch free. Overall, 9.5/10. I have also found an HP keyboard, a generic PS/2 mouse works well as an input device. The LCD is an HP L1506, works well, no dead pixels or scratches. This is a great retro gaming machine, or for industrial applications.
