Visualclues this car meant business are the Ram-Air hood scoops. The exterior is adornedwith the race day graphics as well as bold hood and trunk stripes. Interior featuresinclude tilt forward seats, lap belts, Hurstshifter and wood grain look dash, console and door panel trim. The highperformanceV8 motor, with outstanding detail, is found under the front hood. The trunk details include the Firestone spare tire. This model is special as it is the 1970 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. It was driven by RodgerWard, who had won the Indianapolis500 race twice! His first win was in 1959 followed by a win in 1962. Inaddition to the graphics, this diecast has rear bumper flag holders for displayingthe included two yellow flags. (The flags, rear deck cover and white convertibletop have not been removed from their protective shell, as shown in the photos.) This diecast has never been displayed and has always remainedin the original styrofoam box and exterior Danbury Mint box. As such, thediecast has not been exposed to sunlight, dust or any other air contaminants. Alldoors, hood and rear trunk open as designed. The diecast has no scratches,blemishes or broken parts.
