This is an excellent example of RICH red zincite and DAY-GREEN willemite, with Tephorite, Franklinite, and possible graphite. From the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, NJ. Note that the camera picks up some blue in Shortwave UV that I do not see in person (see Photo #6). This COULD be Hardystonite, but since I don’t see it in person, I am going with reflection. (The camera is more receptive to Hardystonite than the naked eye, but it also is prone to capturing UV reflection.) In addition, there is a day-lime-green spot on the back that I believe is just paint from a prior collector (Photo #4). The willemite even glows in LONGWAVE UV (see the last two photos). This is a rock weighing 9.0 ounces (257 g), and measuring approximately 2.25 inches X 1.75 inches X 1.50 inches (5.6 cm X 4.2 cm X 3.6 cm). UV Photos are shown in Shortwave UV, except the last two which are in Longwave UV. Looking for a great UV light at the best price?
