Description: Prime Source Defoamer Select - 1 Quart ( 32 oz. ) Prevent and Eliminate Foam Defoamer Select™ is a water-based, silicone emulsion, antifoam and defoamer that can be used to prevent foam formation or knock down existing foam. Reducing and eliminating the foam during tank mixing, allows the product to be more thoroughly agitated during the mix process and reduces the threat of chemical spills. The factors contributing to the creation of foam include the products being used, the temperature and viscosity of the tank mix components, the amount of agitation required and other conditions. Defoamer Select will help to control this foam by penetrating the walls of the foam bubbles, causing them to collapse. A number of factors impact the severity of the foam problem, such as the tank mix partners being combined, the temperature of the solution and the amount of agitation needed. If left untreated, these foaming issues can cause spills, impact the quality of the application or increase the amount of time it takes to make the spray solution. Using Defoamer Select: For most applications, use 1/2 to 1 ounce per 100 gallons of spray solution. If heavy foaming is anticipated, use up to 2 ounces per 100 gallons of spray solution. Antifoaming: Add water and at least one component of the tank mix. Then add Defoamer Select at the use rate above. If foaming appears, add more. Defoaming: If foam develops, stop agitation and add Defoamer Select at the use rate above. Continue addition if foam does not disappear.
