The brush has an engraved image of the butterfly - a symbol of the gentle and transforming powers of nature. The Wood The handle of this fine brush is made of pure, locally grown Pear wood. Pear wood is naturally dark in color, and has a very fine grain. The wood has been hand finished with natural oils to preserve the beauty of the brush for a long, long time. The rounded wood pins come from the Hornbeam tree, which is grown in the forests of Italy and Poland. This particular wood is so hard and strong, it is also known as Ironwood. Natural Hair CareThis fine crafted brush is specially made for all hair types. The bristles are made of pure wood pins, securely fastened into a soft rubber cushion set in a handle made of oiled pear wood. The rounded wood pins gently massage the scalp and improve circulation, while distributing natural oils throughout the hair. Wood is naturally anti-static and will calm fly away hair. Wood does not conduct heat, so the brush will remain cool if used during blow drying. The PWW hairbrush is a full size brush that is 2.5" wide (brush area) x 9" (total length) and is natural wooden bristle made from the solid wood of the Hornbeam tree, which is also known as Ironwood. Crafted in Germany's Black Forest in a family that's been making high quality hairbrushes for over 100 years. The wood pins are firmly set into a rubber cushion base with a small air hole (see detail photo). This air hole is important for allowing the gentle flexibility of the wood pins to move softly around the curves of the scalp - thus providing the ultimate scalp massage.
