Description: Listing is for a Vintage 1974 Dinky Toys # 691 Alvis Scorpion & Striker Anti-Tank Missile Tank w/6 Missiles, Diecast Metal, 1:50, Very Good Condition. Alvis Scorpion & Striker Anti-Tank Missile Tank has metal tank trends that rotate. Tank's ready-to-fire bin at back of vehicle raises to fire 5 yellow Swingfire guidance missiles. Alvis Scorpion & Striker Missile Tank dimensions are 5 3/4" Long x 2 3/8" Wide x 2 1/2" High and weights by itself 12 ozs. Dinky Toys # 691 Alvis Scorpion & Striker Anti-Tank Missile Tank is in used condition. There Anti-Tank Missile Tank has some minor paint nicks, and I don't know if all missile launchers work. It looks like 2-3 missile launchers work. I'm not an expert with this particular Dinky Toys military vehicle. Sold "as is," and No returns are accepted. In my opinion, Alvis Scorpion & Striker Missile Tank is in C-6 Very Good Condition - Minor scratches and paint nicks, free of dents and may have minor parts replaced or missing. Dinky Toys are made in the United Kingdom. I am downsizing and listing/selling on EBay some of my personal collection. Photographs are part of description. Since Tank no longer has its original box, it will be wrapped careful with bubble wrap, packing material, and mailed in a new white corrugated double walled reinforced cardboard box with a flap that opens and closes easily. FV102 Striker was Swingfire wire-guided anti-tank missile tracked vehicle that served in British Army. FV102 Striker carried five missiles in a ready-to-fire bin at back of vehicle. Five reload missiles were carried in vehicle. Bin was elevated to 35° for firing. Targeting sight could be dismounted and operated at a distance from vehicle which could remain in cover, even completely screened as missile can turn up to 90° after launch to come onto target heading. Secondary armament is a 7.62mm (.30 caliber) general-purpose machine gun in a turret. 350 Alvis Scorpion & Striker Missile Tanks were produced during 1972-1985. Alvis Scorpion & Striker Missile Tanks served in British Army during 1972 to mid-2005 (almost 33 years.) FV102 Striker was withdrawn from British Army service as Swingfire missile was replaced by Javelin missile in mid-2005. Dinky Toys tanks are “solid” with very heavy die-cast metal bodies.
