Description: Welcome to my auction! Dithridge and Company glass, Colonial Dresser box meant for collars. Made with white opaque glass, commonly called milk glass, this item features roses and scalloping. Has traces of original paint. Table pieces in this pattern are called Rose Wreath. Actual date of introduction is unknown, but it likely was made for several years during the 1890's. Dithridge didn't mark their name on the glass, rather they had an in mold number system. Both these pieces are marked 184. Measures 5-3/4" wide, 4" high and weighs just over 2 pounds. Lid has several small chips on the lip, top base edge has roughness all around (chip damage from the lid). Bottom base and lid have a couple spots that are sharp, likely mold line chips, nothing more than felt. Not bad for 120+ years old. Ships in a 12x12x12 box, both pieces secured with bubble wrap and peanuts. Not an easy piece to find. Please read entire description, Terms of sale, all policies, scrutinize every picture and ask questions before bidding to minimize disappointment and the hassles of a return. I have been studying old glasswares & the companies that made them for several years now and feel I have barely scratched the surface. While I do occasionally make mistakes, I really try to Properly ID my glass items, and guarantee them to be as I have stated. I gladly accept correct on my auctions, if you can provide proof/information of my error. Please contact me through Ebay if you have any questions at all about my auctions or policies. With rampant viruses and scams, I don't usually open email sent to my personal addy when i don't recognize the sender, so i may not get emails sent there. Send me your email address if you need additional/specific pictures, as ebays mail system can't handle photo files.
