Dollhouse Miniatures 1:12 Furniture Dombed Hope Chest By Lincoln Co. & Filled

Description: This 1:12 Scale wooden walnut Chest, made by the Lincoln Co. goes by many names: A Hope Chest, A Blanket Chest and A Domed Chest. Call it what you may, it is a plain and simple piece of dollhouse miniature furniture and can add to any room you can envision it in. Its lines are simple and the wood is very smooth to the touch. There is some very thin black stripeing done on the front and atop the dome. There is a small black rectangular piece of wood with 2 holes in it on the front. Not sure why? Perhaps to resemble a lock of some sort? The dome top easily opens and stays open until you’re ready to close it. There is good sized space for whatever you’d like to put in it. It also has a drawer below the bottom of the dome that runs the same length, 3”, and has 2 small drawer pulls the same color of the chest. A good place for the lady of the house to keep gloves, handkerchiefs or whatever else you could think of. The dome chest was manufactured in China and is a licensed reproduction. It is suitable for a bedroom , sewing room or attic in your dollhouse or room box or wherever you keep your miniature collection. The dome chest measures 3 inches in length, 2.5 inches in height, and 1.75 inches in width, making it a great addition to any dollhouse no matter its size as it is a small piece. Included in this sale is a ladies petticoat and cami both made from white cotton and trimmed in hand sewn white ruffled lace. Both have a blue silk ribbon bow attached. These were in my display case and the back of the cami shows where the glue was attached to the shelf. It’s not damaged. There is ribbon around where the waist would be on the petticoat. (In later years I began making them with a “button” (used a small pearl). Also included in this sale is this pretty stack of 3 wooden hearts that I covered in dollhouse mini wallpaper, stacked by size and tied with a darker blue silk ribbon, a ribbon rose and a pale silk ribbon tied in a pretty bow. These 3 items in the chest are made by an artisan and are one of a kind - yes I’m the artisan - made by me a very long time ago! So yes these are made in the USA! These 4 items are included in the sale and are in Excellent Condition! So this is 1 unit of 4 items. I can’t say this chest is Victorian - it’s not - however, drape a piece of antique lace over one edge or put small pieces of lace in it spilling out…… I tend to call it a Hope Chest because my earliest recollection was seeing my mother’s mahogany Hope Chest up in our attic.
