Description: Large, thick, and heavy…..12.5” x 10”, 2.5” thick. 8 lbs.+. 737 pages. 110+ Illustrations. No date but when compared to similar a publishing date of 1875-80 seems reasonable. The book has had a spine repair sometime in the past. Joint repair front and back. The binding is good. The text block is gilded all around and is bright and clean. Overall, the pages are in good condition with only a hint of age tone. Very minimal and scattered small spots/smudges. The only condition issue that keeps the book from approaching good+ to very good condition is some sections of the pages that have darkened. Either from a change in page paper stock or from the book being left open letting pages becoming sunned. Despite this, it is still a good copy and of course the Dore’ illustrations are fantastic.
