Description: Donny & Marie Osmond are siblings of a very musical US large family from Ogden, Utah. Both had solo hits in the US and UK: Marie with “Paper Roses” (1973 in the top ten in the USA and UK) and Donny with “go away little girl” (#1 in USA 1971), “puppy love” (#3 in USA in 1972) and “the tweth of never” (No. 8 in the USA in 1973). On this CD are also 2 top ten hits by Donny & Marie represented as a duo with “I'm leaving it all up to you” and “morning side of the mountain” (both from 1974). On this CD, however, there are also not very beautiful songs in the top ten, such as “it's all in the game” (originally a number 1 hit by Tony Edwards in 1958), “make the world go away” or “let it be me” (originally sung by the Everly Brothers in 1959). It should be mentioned how popular Donny & Marie were on both sides of the Atlantic in the 70s. On their world tour in 1975, they effortlessly filled large stadiums. Donny was the swarmed teenage star with a series of fainting girls. From 1976 onwards, they had their own 30-minute TV show in the United States, where they developed their comedic talent with funny disguises and sketches (shown on the 2 DVD set “the best of Donny & Marie Vol.1". Conclusion: always worth 5 stars! Anyone who loves romantic and timeless pop songs can draw from the fullest with this CD.
