Dorflinger Venetian Wine Cocktail Glasses 4 3/4" Tall Amethyst Set of 5 Antique

Description: Beautiful set of five wine or cocktail glasses in amethyst from Dorflinger. The inspiration for these glasses was fine Venetian glassware from the 16th century. These glasses are quite thin and delicate and have rolled edges at the bottom. Their simple but elegant design would work well with modern decor. This pattern was made between 1915 and 1920. These glasses came in 4 sizes with these being the second largest size or cocktail size. From largest to smallest, they were designated champagne, cocktail, whiskey and cordial, and came in three colors, amber, turquoise and amethyst. Dorflinger marked their wares with paper stickers, so these are unmarked. Steuben made a similar shape, but my understanding is that Steuben pieces were always marked. An example of this glass is included in the Corning Museum of Glass's collection, and it available for viewing on their website. Condition: I found no flaws on 3 of the glasses. One of the glasses has an inclusion from the production process. The last glass has a small mark on the foot, which is wear, a small scratch on the base near the rim and additional production issues. These include two inclusions, a few larger bubbles in the glass, some ripples in the glass near the rim, and some rippling in the glass near the folded foot edge.
