I hang my own axes too and a good handle with straight grain is very hard to find so I want the haft to last as long as possible. The leather I use is very thick (10/11 oz.) and will take a beating. Please note that there is nothing you can do to completely protect a tool like an axe that takes such a beating with use. These leather guards will greatly reduce the damage to your axes as they have mine. Take a look at the pictures (axes not included). I will need the dimensions of your double bit, message me the circumference of your axe at the top and 5-6 inches down. If you want a darker or lighter color to your leather guard please note that in your purchase.
