Description: Reclaimed Pacific Yew hand turned vase. This lovely vase is made from a reclaimed piece of Pacific Yew wood. This rare wood is one of the most beautiful from the Pacific Northwest. A very slow growing tree. This section of wood had 2 trunks that were fused together. It has nice color and grain patterns with lots of pin knots. Vase is decorative only, can be used for twigs or dried flowers but is not meant to be filled with water. There are a few small checks and 1 larger crack which is very common in this wood, all in the sapwood areas. They are filled. Finished with paste wax and buffed to a satin sheen. Thanks for looking! 8.5 ounces unpacked weight. Approximately 6" tall and 3" at the waist. Makes a great gift for that special, but difficult to buy for, person. Signed/initialed and dated on the bottom. Hand made at our family shop, Dovecote Woodworking in Estacada Oregon. Over packing and boxing adds to the final weight for shipping.
