Drop-in substitute for R50-E2-Y2-12VDC relay for Palomar 300A and others

Description: Here you see for sale a new, never-used substitute relay for the hard-to-find "R50-E2-Y2-12VDC" relay made by Potter and Brumfield. It was used in the late version of the Palomar 300A, alongside the plug-in relay. It was also used in some later-production versions of the model Skipper 300. *** IF YOU WANT MORE THAN ONE OF THESE, SEE OUR OTHER LISTINGS FOR A BETTER PRICE ON QUANTITY TWO OR FIVE *** THIS IS ->NOT<- FOR THE EARLIER 300A THAT HAD THREE IDENTICAL RELAYS SOLDERED TO A PLUG-IN CIRCUIT BOARD. The R50 relay was also used in some Palomar mobile solid-state amplifiers, but it's probably too tall to fit inside one of those. The white "Axicom" relay we use is in a -> socket <-. If you blow out this one, you can substitute other relays made by a whole slew of second sources like Omron "G5V-2". This relay's contacts are rated at 3 Amps. The original R50 part's contacts are rated for 2 Amps. This adapter will solder into the circuit board in place of the R50 relay. If the new relay wears out, simply plug in a new one. ABOUT THE RECEIVER PREAMP IN THE PALOMAR 300A:This relay will NOT fix any of the other problems with the amplifier's receiver preamplifier. The preamp relay is mounted up against the plug-in relay. We recommend removing that one and installing a wire jumper in its place. The sensing relay is placed away from the plug-in relay. The picture that shows the empty plug-in relay socket has a wire jumper to the left of the socket. This is the "fix" for preamp problems. An example would be the loss of receiver signal when the 300A is connected in line with the radio. The relay at the lower-left of this picture is the "sensing" relay that will cause transmit problems. This substitute relay will solder directly into the circuit board in place of that relay. IF YOU CHOOSE TO REPAIR YOUR PREAMP WITH THIS RELAY, ALL RISK IS YOURS. IT WILL *ONLY* MAKE THE PREAMP WORK AFTER ALL OTHER FAULTS IN THE PREAMP HAVE *ALSO* BEEN REPAIRED !!!
