Description: This week I'm offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. The few smaller comic publishers, fighting with Marvel and DC in the Sixties for display space, often created their own superhero lines, with mixed success. Charlton Comics was just about at the bottom of the heap, the perennial poor cousin of the larger companies. Still, they managed to produce some interesting superhero titles in the mid-Sixties, and again in the early Seventies, thanks in part to having the services of such artists as Steve Ditko (who had just left Marvel) and Joe Staton. One such title was E-Man, a character who went against the conventions of the day by being innocent and simple in his motivations. The comic didn't take itself too seriously (E-Man's girlfriend is a stipper named Nova Kane!), and Joe Staton'sd art, with its slight trace of goofiness, fits the character perfectly. The comic is still popular with collectors, over forty years after it first appeared. Here I have E-Man #9, dated July 1975, published by Charlton! It's in very good condition overall, with some vertical creasing - see scans for condition. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping is $3.00 for First Class Mail, and I'll combine and discount shipping costs for multiple winnings. Payment is via PayPal only. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
