Description: McKee Bro Spooner Modern / Scroll with Flower Antique Glass c. 1881 Early American Pattern GlassUp for bid is a handsome example of Early American Pattern Glass. This is a Spooner in the pattern: MODERN; Introduced in 1881 by McKee & Brothers of Pittsburgh-PA / Jeannette-PA, the company operated 1853-1899; pattern is also known as Scroll with Flower Judging from the original catalog drawing (see photos) , the item I am selling appears to be is either a spooner or a sugar bowl. No chips or cracks, handles are good and bottom has no chips, it does old use nicks along inside edge of rim from use as a spooner. No lid found with this item. It measures 4-1/2 “ H x 4” dia across rim. Very handsome pattern of a 6 point star with daisy flower stippled leaves, fan and cosmos flowers as well as a banding of arched leaves and plants around the rim. Signature handles of McKee & Bros. Many other pieces were made in this pattern. See my photo of a drawing from the original catalog.
