Description: Early 1900s Antique Hand Quilted 8 Point Star Quilt 75”x66”. I believe this quilt was made in the early 1900s. It has been used and loved, but is in good vintage condition considering it is over 100 years old. I found about 6 places where the fabric has become threadbare and the batting is coming out. And about 6 places where the seam has opened up and needs to be sewn up. See pictures. Thirty stars from multi-colored cotton fabrics with red fabric as the background. There are a couple places where the quilt has been repaired by hand over the decades. I think of this as a collectors piece for display not a quilt for daily use. There is also some bunching of the batting in places. I see no stains on front and 2 old spots on back. See pictures. I bought this quilt at an estate sale in Clearwater, Florida. The stars are hand pieced. It is HAND QUILTED in white thread. The back is a very soft white cotton with faint thin red and blue stripes. Red binding is attached by hand and is the same red fabric as the background fabric on front. There are 30 stars in all (5 rows and 6 columns of squares) and could be as many fabrics used in the making of this beautiful colorful quilt. It is mostly red, white and blue. A wonderful piece of Americana. A true Labor of Love. Lovely conversation piece. 110124
