Description: Up for bid is an early European silver sugar tongs, unmarked, as is. The piece is 5 1/2 inches long and weighs 29 grams. It has thin applied shell grips and wide convex arms tapering to broad bend. It is monogrammed “JRM” on the bend in a Western European style. There are no marks. Condition on the tongs is fair. There is a patch repair to the back of one grip, crude joints, numerous dents, and a small silver-test cut mark on one edge as shown. There are also some stubborn black spots. It has a scratchy surface too. Still an interesting old sugar tongs!
