Very rare. This is a home run. Dorothea (Dorothy) Taber Stafford (1902 - 1985) was active/lived in Illinois, Vermont. Dorothea Stafford is known for Cubist and abstract painting. Dorothy Prohaska Stafford was born in Chicago, IL in 1902 and grew up in Oak Park, IL. She attended the University of Michigan from 1920-21 and married Harold Stafford in 1922. The family lived in River Forest, IL and son Charles was born in 1924. She studied with the artist Rudolph Weisenborn and exhibited at The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL and the Chicago No-Jury Society of Artists, Chicago, IL in the 1940s and 50s. She had gallery representation though Findley Galleries, Chicago, IL and had a one woman show at the Paul Theobald Gallery in Chicago, IL in 1944. She died in Stuart, FL in 1986
