Description: Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing. This is Baby Taylor 301-R (Rosewood) Limited Edition Made in USA. Beautiful TAYLOR BABY-ROSE 6ST. This is an early model purchased more than 20 years ago. The specs are: Top: Spruce Veneer Sides and back (arched back): Rosewood Fingerboard: Ebony (confirmed by catalog, but not sure) Included: Genuine hard case (with key), genuine Baby Taylor pickguard, genuine truss rod wrench, and a user card with the date of purchase. The case has some marks, and the locking latches are in good working order. The neck is straight, the strings are Elixir light gauge, and the tuners are in working order. It has been taken out from a temperature- and humidity-controlled room with dust on it, and the dust on the case has been wiped off easily. Metal parts (strap pins, case patching locks, etc.) show signs of age such as marks. There is no abnormal discoloration on the tuners, but there is an unnoticeable ding at the base of the neck shown in the 13th photo. This is the previous owner personal impression. A 301-R in this condition other than old stock may be rare. The previous owner believe that this is a parlor size flagship model (which was very popular at the time) that Taylor followed in the footsteps of the Tacoma. Probably this model was produced with a lot of energy. At the time, Taylor was taking on the giant manufacturers Martin and Gibson, and while aiming to produce guitars that sounded as good as possible in a rational way, Tacoma suffered from paint peeling problems. (This is just an opinion.) The previous owner was honestly surprised at the time that they would use selected spruce wood with a bear claw on the top, make a resin case with a logo, and force a small, unprofitable guitar figurine onto the production line. Later, they shifted to a lower-priced version (made in Mexico), but one cannot help but feel the difference from this early model. The strings are loosened.
