This yarn can be knit to a worsted weight for extra dense fabric and extra warmth. Be careful with yarn substitutions though. It won't work for all worsted weight patterns. Stick to scarves, hats and cowls in worsted gauge. Sweaters and shawls may be too stiff. The fiber content is 25% superfine alpaca, 22% wool, 18% polyester, 18% acrylic, 11% silk and 6% nylon. The nylon ads to durability, and the polyester and nylon add to loft, with the blend resulting in a fabric that is extra warm and cozy, as well as soft to the skin.
