Description: ELEGANT VINTAGE HEDI SCHOOP CALIFORNIA POTTERY ASIAN GIRL FIGURINE Rare. According to Kovels: "Hedi Schoop emigrated from Germany in 1933 and started Hedi Schoop Art Creations, North Hollywood, California, in 1940. Schoop made ceramic figurines, lamps, planters, and tablewares. Schoop's slipcast ceramic figurines were popular before she started her company and she also made figural planters and vases. The business burned down in 1958. Some of the molds were sold and Schoop began designing for other companies. She died in 1995." Measures approximately: just shy of 12" tall 4.5" Base diameter 5.5"-6.0" wide at widest part depending on figurine Condition: Other than fly bite chips on edge of umbrella that can be touched up with some gold flake to finish back to original condition (see picture), figure is in beautiful condition, so these small fly bites will need to be repaired for 100% or leave it as is not very noticeable . Don’t see any crazing in porcelain and no cracks no repairs . Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as "described".
