Description: Very nice copy of the 1959 stereo pressing of Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Song Book Vol. 1, on Verve MG VS-6077. The disc has some superficial scuffs and light marks but plays E, with only a little tiny distant crackle between songs. There is a little more noise noticeable at the beginning of the tracks Things Are Looking Up, and less so on How Long Has This Been Going On, which start out quietly. Still it is not at all overwhelming and the music is thoroughly enjoyable. Really a nice playing copy! The iconic Bernard Buffet cover looks absolutely beautiful, but has a seam split across the top edge of one pocket, and a few inches on the other (see photo). Also a short split at the center of the bottom edge where the disc touches the side. A little light wear aside from that but overall just lovely. This is a very nice copy that plays great.
